Bird Watching in the Pantanal

Bird Watching in the Pantanal

The Amazon rainforest is the biggest rain forest on earth and is spread over almost every South American country.
No wonder it’s that famous.

Many people forget that there’s more nature to see than “just” the rainforest.
On one hand there’s the amazing Andes mountain range.
On the other hands there are the wetlands.

The wetlands are mostly spread over southern Brazil, northern Bolivia and Paraguay.
In general these wetlands are called the Pantanal.
In Brazil they call them the Mato Grosso.

It’s an area that is flooded for more than 80% during the wet season, which is the source of an astonishing diversity of plants and animals…
